I really cannot recommend Ortiz Air enough! Our AC in our all-in-one HVAC unit for our house went out last year in 2018 and of course, as they all do, it went out in the hottest time of the year, it was some time between July and August. We called about 3 different companies before calling Ortiz Air. We know that calling Heating and Air companies at that time of the season and getting an appointment any time soon is difficult because they are all busy. The first company we called said they would call us back and never did. The second company we called didn't pick up the phone. The third company was the same as the first. By then, we found Ortiz Air. We called them and they immediately answered and even gave us an appointment the same day. The guy came out and informed us our unit was from the 80's, it had a leak, and gave us the price for the replacement coolant and the cost to repair the leak. He was honest and said that the repair might not 100% fix the leak because of the units age. So, we discussed how much it would be to replace the entire unit. They gave us a quote right away and even worked with us on the price. We scheduled an appointment for 2 days later. They came and installed it within about 4 or 5 hours and we had AC in our house again.
They were the only company to pick up the phone when we called, schedule an appointment to come out, come out the same day, and have our problem fixed for us within 3 days at the hottest time of the year.
They even came out later that year and just recently for two more problems we though we were having. The first time we were having a leak in our roof and we thought it was from the new HVAC unit so we called, explained what was happening, and they scheduled an appointment for a day or two later. They came out, checked and said everything looks good, but they went the extra mile and double sealed it for free. It turns out, it was not the unit at all and the leak was due to something else.
The last time we called them was just last week because when we would turn on the AC, it would blow cold air for about 30 seconds, stop, then blow out cold air. I couldn't figure out what was going on and did the usual, checked the breakers, replaced the air filter, made sure the unit was turning on, etc. I called them, they gave me an appointment for two days later. On the day of the appointment, they informed us they were running behind and schedule and asked us if we would be okay with being rescheduled for the next morning. My wife and I said that was fine. We appreciated their honesty and professionalism. When they came out the next day, they checked everything on the unit, and confirmed the unit was fine and it was the thermostat that was the problem. Apparently, our thermostat was defective and was turning on the AC and the heater at the same time. They troubleshooted, diagnosed, and even fixed our issue all for free.
My wife and I are extremely happy with Ortiz Air. They are a reliable, respectful, and are a customer-focused business. I would gladly recommend them to all my friends and family.
